Where it all started…

Skyler’s life in the performing arts started at the age of two when she took her first dance class! It was love at first sight and she has been dancing her way through life ever since. As she continued to grow, Skyler’s love of the arts expanded to include theatre and she started acting and singing in addition to her dance training. Throughout the years, Skyler participated in performing arts groups that took part in arts festivals, was a member of honor choirs, attended dance intensives, and danced competitively. All of that experience led her to the decision to pursue dance at the collegiate level!

Currently…

Skyler received her Bachelors of Science in Dance Management at Oklahoma City University, where she graduated with the highest honors. In addition to her bachelor's degree, Skyler also received a minor in history and a certificate in entertainment business. OCU was a great starting point for her career in the arts due to hands-on management experience the school provided. Skyler worked several crew positions across six different shows during her four years in the program. In addition to working on live shows, Skyler was able to take courses that focused on touring productions, producing, nonprofits, technical theatre, and event planning.

During her time at the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment, Skyler has had the opportunity to work as the Assistant to the Artistic Director in the inaugural production of the Star Dance Company’s Holiday Spectacular, under the direction of Tiffany van der Merwe. She has also worked as the Assistant Company Manager for Move! Dance for the World of Entertainment, as a stitcher in multiple seasons of Ann Lacy School productions, the Student Professional for the Costume Shop within the Ann Lacy School, and as a videographer and editor for virtual productions within the department.

Outside of her work at Oklahoma City University, Skyler has worked with the Joffrey Ballet School and the Distinguished Young Woman of Oklahoma Scholarship program, designed and constructed costumes for her home studio, and served as an assistant stage manager for local recitals.

Currently, Skyler lives in London, studying towards her Masters in Arts Management and Culture at the Strand Campus of Kings College London.
